The author presents a description of the thinking behind the radar elements of an M.Sc. course offered at University College London in Microwaves and Optoelectronics. Consideration is given to the syllabus (both of the course as a whole and of the explicitly `radar´ part), the method of teaching, method of assessment, and availability and suitability of textbooks
