Collaboration in CPD between industry and academia-a consortium approach

In seeking to harness the wealth of expertise in higher education with the size and strength of GEC a consortium of higher educational institutions with the GEC companies has been formed. Through the consortium, accredited post-graduate level of study is available on a modular basis. Modules are typically one week residential courses with pre-reading and post-course assessment or they can also be distance learning packs. The universities and polytechnics have agreed to accept each other´s teaching, and so it is possible, to a certain extent, to mix modules from different establishments and to mix technical modules with personal or management development modules
