Abstract :
Traditional gantry planer employs direct current drive and relay-contactor control system. It has disadvantages such as miscellaneous control, harder on system maintenance. Siemens M4 controller is used for reconstructing the main driving system and feeding system of gantry planer. Traditional direct current driving is changed into alternative current driving by converters. Parameter control based on modern controller is achieved with the design computation and parameters selecting and setting. According to the control requirements, inputs and outputs distribution of the front-end programmable logic controller is drawn out and control process based on variable-frequency drives for gantry planer is designed. New system has many advantages such as more flexibility, easier maintenance, higher reliability and lower resource consumption. The whole system is simplicity on a great deal.
