  • Abstract
In this study, novel materials for set piece tube was prepared based on rice hull (wastepaper) and clay (loess). CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose), starch and polyvinyl alcohol were used as binder. The samples were shaped by pressing method with pressure lOMPa, and dried at 80 °C .After cooling, curing composition can be prepared by a new set piece tube Compression strength of the composite was higher than lOMPa. Flexural strength was up to 5.28MPa and tensile strength 2.15MPa. The density of the composite was 0.81g/cm3. The novel materials could be applied as substitution for traditional paper tube. Solid Waste of rice hull and wastepaper could be utilized and natural resources consumption was reduced. Furthermore, natural degradation property of this kind of novel materials means low pollution, low carbon and low price.
