Abstract
Front-end Butterworth low-pass filter in navigation system is necessary and essential, but the tedious design processes usually take engineers into trouble. This paper presents a relatively fast methodology with the assistance of the symbolic calculus in MATLAB, and demonstrates the full process through a practice design specification. Due to the discrete value of passive components such as resistors and capacitors, the proper attempts are also needed. Simulation using Pspice verify the final results to guarantee the feasibility of the theoretical design derived.
