Abstract
A program for analysis of asymmetry and cross-polarization losses in reflector beam guides, based on Hermite-Gaussian beam expansions, is described. When executed on a supercomputer, the program is fast enough to be used for interactive design or optimization. The coefficients of the reflected modes are found from a least-squared error fit to the boundary conditions at a number of sample points. The results are compared with analytical solutions which are available in the case of a zeroth-order beam reflecting from an ellipsoidal mirror, and data are presented for reflectors with random surface deviations.<>
