Abstract :
IEEE 802.16, popularly known as WiMAX, is one of the current rapid developed wireless technologies because of the growing demand for high-speed wireless broadband networks. In this paper, we propose a multi-channel multi-radio centralized scheduling algorithm using tree-priority search manner. We evaluated the proposed algorithm with three selection criteria through extensive simulations and the experimental results are instrumental for improving the performance of IEEE 802.16 based WMNs in terms of link scheduling. To the best of the authors´ knowledge, this work is the first one on the centralized scheduling for multi-channel multi-radio IEEE 802.16 mesh mode that takes into account the number of antennas, channels, buffer size, and the link selection strategies at the same time to evaluate the system performance.
