  • Abstract
This paper proposes a customer-centric, Intelligent-Agent and Web-Service based system to integrate the flexibility, adaptability and autonomy of agents, as well as the interoperability, decentralization and extensibility of Web Services. We apply the service composition concept for e-business to the horizontal service decomposition and business role differentiation. In advance we defined two types of agents for system design: Personal Agent and Generic Agent. Each agent, wrapped as a Web Service, plays the role as a customer or an atomic service provider. And it responses to certain events according to business rules and makes real-time decisions by applying predefined operational strategies. The orchestration of these agents builds an automatic e-business with features of flexible cooperation, initiative reactivity, and intelligent decisionmaking. It will bring the benefits of increased service efficiency and reduced service complexity to e-business.
