Abstract
Many types of S-band broadband multibeam klystron (MBK) have been developed at the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS). The main performance and operating parameters are listed in Table 1. These MBKs operate at varius S-band frequency and have peak powers of 120-200kW, average powers of 1.8- 10.8kW, efficiencies of 30-45%, and bandwidths of 3.3- 12.1%. MBKs have common electron optics system, which consists of 18 pieces of electron beam. It can operate at both cathode modulation and control electrode modulation.
