Abstract :
We study the Erlang voice capacity of CDMA forward links with least squares adaptive equalizers. The effects of equalizer misadjustment due to limited training samples are accounted for through an accurate, analytical approximation to the equalizer´s output SINR probability distribution function. Our results show that a practical least squares adaptive equalizer potentially improves voice capacity by 30-40% over a conventional maximal-ratio combiner RAKE receiver
