Abstract
Design formulas for the normalized conductance of inclined slots in the narrow wall of an X-band waveguide are given. The formulas are derived using binomial regression of the experimental data given by E.W. Guptill and W. H. Watson (1949). The formulas are simple and accurate enough for the practical design of the shunt slot in the narrow wall of the waveguide. The simple formula obtained here can be used in the design of a slotted waveguide array at 9.375 GHz. The good agreement of numerical results obtained with the experimental data shows that this formula can be used over a wide range of inclination angles of slots and still obtain the accurate conductance values.<>
