Abstract :
A one-dimensional profiling algorithm of lossy dielectric bodies of revolution which is based on the Rayleigh approximation is proposed. It is shown that the profile can be reconstructed adequately by performing the Fourier transformation of the backscattered field data in the frequency domain. The analysis and numerical examples presented are restricted to the axially symmetric target whose dielectric constant is known and nose-on incidence.<>
