Abstract :
The controller described is based on a generalised predictive control structure, but employs a set of control actions at each instant. Control input predictions are incorporated in a cost function, which is minimized in order to satisfy optimality conditions on the overall predictive control scheme. The resultant controller is therefore an extended predictive method, with control inputs which are convex combinations of the unweighted generalised predictive control inputs
