Abstract :
The use of the modified method of damped least squares in a selected class (MMDLS) to solve the problem of phase-only nulling synthesis with minimized weight perturbations is considered. It is shown that the last couple elements are the key elements in an adaptive phase-only nulling problem. The phase variations in phase-only nulling array are given. It is shown that, from the viewpoint of full adaptivity i.e., from the overall point of view, the edge elements have the largest adjusting phase value in phase-only nulling. This means that the edge element is the key one if trying to producing deep null by using only a few elements of the array.<>
