Abstract :
The authors present methods for calculating the signal characteristics of the VHF/UHF propagation channel considering multipath effects. The multipath signals are derived from a wave propagation model which takes into account diffraction effects as well as scattering from rough surfaces in a 3D terrain. It is shown that parameters which allow an assessment of the coverage and link performance can be determined from the field strength-delay-spectrum.<>
