Abstract :
More and more attention are paid to using carbon fiber compound materials in maintenance and repair of offshore structure. In this paper, we focus on a test of carbon fiber used in repair and reinforcement on crack. This will be followed by a description of the experiment. Two kinds of specimens are provided for the test which are cut in different crack. One kind of specimens are unwrapped, the other kind of them are strengthen by carbon fiber. For the sake of contrast, the same crack are cut in specimens of unwrapped and strengthen. Infrared photography instrument and acoustic emission instrument are used for test data acquisition and processing. Details on the test are discussed in later and some interesting results of the reinforcement of carbon fiber are obtained..
