Abstract
The author considers the differences between real-time embedded systems and commercial DP. Many people claim that there are no important concerns common to the development of these two kinds of system; that any common concerns are of negligible importance in comparison to the differences. The author argues on the contrary that the common concerns are far more important than the differences-so important that one may effectively regard all software systems as the same
