Abstract
Describes a new family of ECL arrays based on an advanced bipolar process developed by Plessey Semiconductors. The ELA80K array family has been developed in conjunction with Applied Microcircuits Corp. (AMCC) who contributed much to its design. The array family boasts a maximum gate complexity of 16000 gates with utilisation capability of 95% making it the most complex ECL array currently being marketed. using the highest power option cells loaded delays better than 130 ps can be achieved, and clock frequencies of 1.2 GHz are guaranteed
