Abstract :
Summary form only given. One particular magnetron has been reduced to a quarter of its original weight by replacing the horseshoe-shaped Alnico magnets with a magnetic circuit which includes Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets. The basic steps taken in the redesign process and the most important aspects that needed to be considered when using NdFeB as a magnet for use in a magnetron design, are described
