Abstract :
An improved adaptive genetic algorithm for solving facility layout problem is proposed. The principle of the algorithm is: during running process, making the crossover and mutation possibility adjust adaptively along with the value of fitness in accordance with the laws of sigmoid function curve; using smaller crossover and mutation possibility for the individuals of better patterns while lager crossover and mutation possibility for the individuals of worse patterns so as to preserve excellent patterns of population, increase convergence speed and improve the probability of obtaining globally optimal solution. Through a calculation example and comparison with other algorithms, those prove that the improved genetic algorithm in this paper is characterized by better robustness, faster convergence and stronger adaptive capability. The algorithm has a better effect on the optimization problem of facility layout in workshop.
