Abstract :
Based on the theory and practice of school evaluation, the paper used balanced scorecard (BSC) to constructed the framework and indicators system of universities´ performance evaluation from the strategic development perspective. Through pre-investigating, a 30-subject formal questionnaire was obtained and by which total 430 teachers from 18 teaching-research universities were investigated. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to prove that the performance of universities is reflected as four aspects: satisfaction of government and society, satisfaction of teachers and students, internal process performance, and strategic performance. Then, the internal relationships of the four aspects was verified by the structural equation model (SEM) method. The research results will provide a new thought and method for performance evaluation of Chinese universities.
