Abstract :
This paper presents a detailed model of back-to-back VSC transmission scheme in an electromagnetic transient simulation program (PSCAD/EMTDC) in order to investigate system performance. This includes the simulation model of VSC and its interpolated firing, harmonic filtering and control circuits in PSCAD. Decoupled vector-control in a synchronously rotating reference frame for the VSC is implemented on both sending and receiving ends. The interconnections and interrelations between the various blocks have been specified in order to investigate a detailed design of a true working system.
