Abstract :
The side impact is one of the most important crash types. The rear door of a specific vehicle is open during side impact. An optimization solution is presented by analyzing the opening reason on the basis of design principle of door lock and door dynamic deformation during side impact. The simulation and vehicle´s verification indicate that the optimized door deformation is reasonable and also the door is not open any longer during side crash.
