Abstract
In July 1987, British Satellite Broadcasting (BSB) signed a 15 year contract with the IBA for the provision of three of the five DBS channels allocated to the United Kingdom under the World Administrative Radio Conference (WARC) agreement and plans. As the broadcasting agency for independent television, the IBA was tasked with the design, construction and operation of the broadcast uplink earth station
