Abstract :
The ISO group TC159 SC4 set up a working group to develop task requirements standards for the use of VDTs in offices. The author discusses how the activities of the group have developed. The contents of ISO/DIS 9241/2 are briefly outlined. The development of the standard has raised some interesting issues which have implications for the application of ergonomics to standards
