Abstract
A center-fed strip-loaded rectangular dielectric rod leaky-wave antenna is fabricated in such a way that the junction at the feed point appears as an H-plane Tee. Experimental studies on the H-plane Tee leaky-wave antenna with regularly spaced and AP (arithmetic progression)-spaced perturbations have been conducted. It is found that, in both cases, square radiation patterns with large beamwidth, low ripple amplitude, and sharp cut-off are obtained. Higher beamwidth and lower ripple amplitude are observed in the case of AP-spaced perturbations. These antennas may find application as feeds for deep cylindrical parabolic reflectors, where uniform aperture illumination with low spill-over is needed.<>
