Abstract
In this paper we study pulse shaping with the goal of exploiting cyclostationarity to realize partially-coordinated flexible spectrum sharing. As a case study, we assume that two signals are sharing the same bandwidth, while having different symbol rates; the signals may not be completely coordinated when accessing the shared spectrum. To allow for spectrum sharing, cyclostationarity is induced by pulse shaping at the transmitter; it is exploited at the receiver for signal extraction by cyclic Wiener filtering. For several examples of coordination between the spectrum sharing signals, pulse shaping schemes are proposed and their corresponding signal extraction schemes are described and assessed using computer simulations
