Abstract :
In this paper we propose a new method for symbol timing synchronization for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system by utilizing the cyclic prefix. Acquisition and tracking mode are exploited in our method, and they can multiplex the same circuit by changing parameter at different synchronization stages. The proposed algorithm has lower hardware complexity and therefore it is suitable for practical system implementation. Computer simulations show that the performance of the proposed scheme is comparable or even superior to that conventional synchronization scheme
