Abstract :
Summary form only given. Finite difference models for calculations of pulsed wave propagation have been created for problems involving either two or three spatial dimensions. Time dependent solutions are calculated for a short duration pulse of a finite width beam in a material with arbitrary inhomogeneity and anisotropy within the calculational region. The results are displayed as A-scans at particular detector positions, as contour plots of compression and shear wave energies, as Poynting vectors, or as differential scattering cross-sections, and may be compared with experimental measurements
