  • Abstract
It is now widely acknowledged that to avoid poor quality and overspending there is a need to control the manner in which industrial expert systems are produced. Too often the process is a labour intensive activity with poorly defined objectives, driven more by the capabilities of the chosen expert systems shell then the user requirements. A method for the development of expert systems, and experience of its use in practical trials is discussed
