Abstract
Bused on a one-dimensional thermal consolidation formulation of saturated soil, problems of one-dimensional thermal consolidation of saturated soil under different thermal loading were investigated. The analytical solutions of excess pore water pressure, temperature increase and the settlement of ground are derived by the method of partial differential equation. The one-dimensional thermal consolidation behaviour of saturated soil was analyzed considering several wok conditions. And it was also dicussed by comparing with the consolidation theory of Terzaghi. The results show that the behaviour of excess pore-water pressure and the settlement of ground is affected differently under different thermal Loading in the process of thermal consolidation. In contrast, the temperature affects the settlement of ground more significant then excess pore-water pressure.
