Abstract :
Describes a theoretical model for the transmission characteristics of a passive branched fibre network based on the statistical performance distribution of the components required for this network. The authors describe results for the throughput loss at a particular wavelength and for the complete spectrum. Both worst and best case network performance figures are evaluated and the predicted performance is compared with the measured results of a simulated network
