Abstract
Both commercial fishing and aquaculture have long histories in Narragansett Bay. Perhaps more importantly, they have a long history of conflict as well. This paper will examine some of the many uses of the bay and focus on the current struggle between commercial fishing and aguaculture interests. It will conclude with an evaluation of the mediation process to resolve this dispute.
