Abstract :
A reflection response model is detailed which accommodates continuous variation of the medium parameter versus depth in a one-dimensional lossless medium. The formulation is raypath based, and involves a segmentation of the source beam into a set of angular segments, which are parametrized in terms of the ray parameter.
