Abstract
There is little to be gained from the application of parallelism to data retrieval. If the work is light in the first place, then you don´t need an array to finish it. Data retrieval is inherently `light work´. The author explains how computational complexity indicates that text retrieval is a relatively simple problem. He explores the text retrieval process. Software indexing techniques outperform connection machine processing
