Abstract :
A new-style roof called " Yun Din" has been sucessfully used in building workers and staff members canteen of Wuhu branch of Changjiang shiping management bureau , however the research on the new spatial structure has not been conducted up to now. Based on analysis of the structural characteristics of the new roof , the constitutive law of the roof structure is put forward, and the experimental research is made to well study the mechanical properties and failure mechanism of the roof structure on the basis of the experimental results. It is concluded that load bearing capability of the structural system is well and the internal forces is well-distributed. It is shown from the experimental results that failure positions of the structure are almost found on interface region above the sixth floor for coming unglued, so the binding strength on these positions should be improved. Simultaneously, it should be noted that the horizontal thrust applied to the roof structure is very small under vertical loads, which is extremely beneficial to minish stress of supporting members on the periphery of the roof.
