Abstract
This paper describes the use of an interactive multimedia learning module for manufacturing scheduling. The three components of the module: concepts, methods, and shop simulation, are described as mechanisms for the student to learn and experiment with scheduling methods. Examples of each part of the module are presented using illustrations from the multimedia tutorial. One feature of this module is an interactive simulation of an electronic board manufacturing shop driven by a Petri net model. Flows through the simulated shop floor are presented and a timed colored Petri net model for the shop is presented and discussed. Preliminary evaluation results are given
