Abstract :
To ensure that lapped connections in continuous Z-purlins have a good effect on moment transfer, this paper presents a bonding connection. A finite element model was established to study the behaviors of the bonding connections, including the strength and stiffness, and to compare with the traditional bolt connections. The analysis shows that, the bonding connection can transfer moment effectively, and this connection has a great improvement on its load bearing behavior compared with the traditional bolt connection. Consequently, the bonding connection can achieve the expected design requirements of continuous Z-purlins.
