Abstract :
The authors review the potential military applications of millimetre waves by the armed services, and comment on the likely form of the enabling antenna, transmitter and receiver technologies paying special regard to environmental effects such as multipath and foliage penetration. Projected military developments are indicated that might benefit civil applications and vice-versa, in particular the use of monolithic elements and cellular networking are discussed
