Abstract
The phenomena of slip or slide, more or less present in railway traction, have negative economical and technical effects. The key element of the anti-slip or anti-slide systems is the accuracy of the wheels and/or locomotive-body speed measurement. The paper analyzes some methods known in the literature and analysis the effect of speed measurement errors on the anti-slip system performances
