Abstract :
This paper proposes a method to determine distances between tools and product parts in non-destructive automatic disassembly processes. A case study with a disassembly cell for mobile phones is presented. The proposed method is based on computer vision monocular dynamic stereoscopy, in which a camera attached to a robot, with its optical axis parallel to the axis of the tool, captures images that after processing provides the necessary information to calculate the coordinates of a point of interest on the product, as well as the distance between the tip of the tool and product point. Results of practical tests are described in order to validate the proposed method.
