Abstract
This paper will discuss the battery technologies currently qualified for space. It will include the advantages and disadvantages for each technology and provide some parameters that allow selection of the appropriate system for a given application. In addition, some of the newer technologies being developed for energy storage applications for the year 2000 and beyond are described
