Abstract :
The order tracking technique and Teager-Huang transform (THT) approach are presented and applied effectively to gearbox fault diagnosis during run-up. This new approach is based on order tracking and Teager-Huang transform technique. The angle domain stationary signal is first obtained by resampling of the vibration signal that has been sampled in the time domain. Then the angle domain signal is decomposed in intrinsic oscillation modes, using Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD). Thirdly, the Teager Kaiser Energy Operator (TKEO) technique is applied to each intrinsic mode function (IMF). The TKEO can track the modulation energy and estimate the instantaneous amplitude and instantaneous frequency. In the end, the time-frequency distribution can be obtained. Therefore, the character of the gear faults can be recognized according to the time-frequency distribution. The experimental results show that order tracking and Teager-Huang transform can effectively diagnose the faults of gear crack.
