Abstract :
Concerns a study into the problems of designing and implementing digital flight control (DFC) systems. The aim of the study is to define modelling and design procedures, for DFC systems, in which the physical processes of the aircraft do not become obscured by the design method. The argument for this policy is that confidence in the integrity of a DFC design is enhanced if the physical significance of the controller´s operation is clear, and that the subsystem model `build-up´ method is accommodated with greater facility if the physical states are explicitly cast in the design model
