Abstract :
Previous implementation of controllers on a transputer network has illustrated the need for software tools to manipulate block diagram representations, and to generate discrete equivalents of continuous controller descriptions and their specific hardware implementation. Software tools used and developed to automate the implementation of controllers on a parallel processing transputer-based system are described. These tools include block diagram transformation software, the interactive matrix manipulation package MATLAB and a transputer development system (TDS). A specific flight controller, namely an RAE Versatile autopilot (VAP), modelled as three control laws, is implemented to illustrate a specific application in flight control
