Abstract
The design of an anemometer for a drifting buoy is presented. The force of the wind on a sphere causes the deflection of a diaphragm which is measured by an optoelectronic system. Preliminary laboratory tests of sensitivity and temperature dependance have been made and a prototype is ready for field trials.
