  • Abstract
The London Electricity control room system is establishing an online electrical model of the entire LEB HV and EHV distribution system. The system will contain enough information to evaluate interconnections and it will be able to determine which parts of the system are energised and which are earthed. Simulation will therefore show whether supplies are connected, it will identify alternate supplies and will warn against some errors and dangerous situations. The author investigates the benefits to be obtained from the use of such sophisticated models including state estimation and fault analysis
