Abstract
Research into dynamic power system simulation has been proceeding here for more than twenty years. Research is currently directed towards the application of distributed microcomputers for efficient simulation of power system dynamics. The authors propose a new system formulation in which state equations are decomposed and partitioned from algebraic network equations, the network equations being solved separately on a host processor, while the state equations of the generating units are solved simultaneously on slave processors
