Abstract :
Feedrate is a crucial parameter of continuous machining, and acute variation of feedrate will significantly affect the surface quality of parts machined. Thus, for high-speed and high-precision continuous machining towards multiple line segment trajectory, the turning feedrate should be increased as much as possible, so that the variation of feedrate will be decreased and the surface quality will be improved. In this paper, the concept of turning angle is described, the profile error and acceleration during turning of multiple line segment trajectory are analyzed, and an optimization algorithm is presented. Through optimizing the turning angle, the turning feedrate is increased. Finally, experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can dramatically increase the turning feedrate under the limitation of profile error.
