Abstract
The chained-parameter matrix solution by C.R. Paul and J.W. McKnight (IEEE Trans. Electromagn. Compatibility, EMC-21, no.2, May 1979) for transmission-line coupling has limited practicality because of intensive matrix multiplications for long cables. A mathematical technique for matrices carried to a power that reduces this computing time by orders of magnitude is presented. The technique takes advantage of the fact that all integers can be expressed as binary numbers, so that the final matrix is a product of squared matrices
